Not that I have ever used it... (or would for that matter) but has the Good Companions closed down? It looks even more unloved than usual.

Such a shame the place has gone so down hill. I used to play darts for their team a few years ago and my husband was their gardener. We used to get a good meal as well! The man who built the place would turn in his grave now if he knew what was happening. Two of my sons went in underage once and I got a phone call to varefie their age. Those were the days!

 Hiya Everybody,
Yes - the 'Good Companions' re-opens tomorrow, Friday night 23rd July, and there's a re-opening party at 7pm according to the chalked boards propped up outside against the adjacent letter box today.
It still looks the same outside - very sad, I'm afraid with some of the letters comprising the name still missing.
Whether it is under new management or not, I do not know - perhaps someone more knowledgeable than myself can throw some light on the recent saga of this pub.
Anyway if you see me in the 'Good Companions' at any time - mine's a quadruple scotch please, and let's forget the formalities - I'll have it straight!!!(and who's going to see me home afterwards???)
Regards to you all, and I hope that you don't get too drunk tomorrow night at the 'Good Companions' party.
